Anambra 2021: Ex-CBN Gov Charles Soludo Wins APGA Primary Election

Former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo, has won the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) primary election of the Anambra governorship election billed for 2021.

The total number of accredited delegates who participated in the election was 795 while 792 votes were cast.

The ex-CBN boss polled 740 votes to defeat Ezenwankwo Christopher who polled 41 votes, ThankGod Ibe who had 4 votes, and Okolo Chibuzor who got seven votes.

He will represent the party in the governorship election scheduled to hold on November 6. The primary election took place on Wednesday in Awka, Anambra state capital.

Willie Obiano, Anambra state governor, and other stakeholders of the party were present at the event.

While the primary exercise was in full gear, the national working committee of a faction of the party led by Jude Okeke announced the suspension of Soludo from the party.

Soludo will now slug it out with candidates from All Progressive Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) among other parties.
