The Presidency, on Sunday, warned Nigerians to be grateful that bombings do not occur in the nation on daily basis.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, made this declaration on the ‘Sunday Politics’ programme on Channels Television.

Adesina said this in response to the numerous complaints by Nigerian citizens over the growing cases of insecurity in the country.

The President’s media aide reminded Nigerians that there was a period in the country’s history when six bombs usually blow up in every single day.

He, however, pointed out that the killings had decreased drastically ever since Muhammadu Buhari became President.

Adesina went further to proclaim that the deaths and bomb explosions have subsided, with the country moving from daily bombing incidents to monthly isolated occurrences.

His comments come in the wake of five different incidents of killings that happened in the last three days in the country.“Yes, there are times, a week, two weeks even a month that you don’t have all these things happening.

There was a time in the immediate past when they happened daily several times. You talked of one bombing within three or four days.

There was a time in this country when bombs went off like firecrackers every day,” Adesina said regarding insecurity in the nation.

“There could be five, six bombings in one day. Now, you can have two, three months without bombings.
