Coronavirus: History Will Not Forgive Us If Nigerians Go Hungry – Tinubu Tells FG

As the world and Nigeria struggle in the battle against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic that has halt many world activities globally, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has warned the federal government of the federation that history will not Forgive the them if Nigerians go hungry and fails to protect her citizens from the spread of the Novel Coronavirus pandemic.

Ashiwaju Ahmed Tinubu disclosed this on Wednesday why advising the federal government on any stimulus package for her citizens as they were Lockdown owing to the Coronavirus.

Tinubu said, the aim of the government now should be how to protect her citizens from hungry and disease during this hard time. Recall that the federal government through Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Investment Sadiya Farouq has said the government of President Buhari is expanding the stimulus package of N20,000 of conditional cash transfer from 2.6 millions Nigerians to 3.6milions people. She equally said those whose their account is less than N5,000 are consider poor and vulnerable.

Tinubu further stated that Program like N-Power and TraderMoni will only cater for few Nigerians and those percentage is nothing comparing to those who live on daily ends meal.

He said this present situation should be used to established a contact between the government and her citizens. He said if the government fails to do the needful, history will not forgive them as leaders and as a Political Parties.

The APC chieftain therefore suggest various ways the government can achieve her close relationship with citizens such as Emergency Substenance Payments, Re-establishment of Agricultural Market and Commodity Board, Expansion of School Feeding Program and conditional Interest-free loans from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
