COVID-19: Health, Education, Other Suffer N321bn Budget Reduction Over Coronavirus

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic that has ravage the world and in which Nigeria has suffered a devastating effect since which has cripple her Economy and which has definitely lead to 2020 appropriation Budget cut, the health sector, educational sector and Nigerians Delta and others.
Nigeria appropriation Budget for the year 2020 is pegged at N10.59tn but it would be reduced to N10.27tn owing to the economic crisis the Coronavirus pandemic have caused.
On the expenditure area of the budget, the executive arms of the government is proposing a budget cut of N321bn which will greatly affect healthcare, education, Niger Delta and host of others.
On the health sector, the executive is proposing a reduction from the initial budget of N44.49bn to N17.98bn which amount to a reduction of about N26.51bn in the sector.
Also on the education sector, the UBEC initial allocation of N111.78bn will be reduced to N61.02bn which amount to a reduction of about N50.76bn cut in the sector budget.
