Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, has claimed that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, laid traps for him but he overcame them.
The Nation reports that Obaseki made the claim during a meeting with APC members from all the wards and local government areas in Edo North at Jattu-Uzaire. According to Obaseki, Oshiomhole tried to entrap him by picking Philip Shaibu as his deputy and Osarodion Ogie as Secretary to the State Government, thinking the trio would quarrel and fall apart.
Edo governor, Obaseki, said his predecessor, Oshiomhole laid traps for him in his administration but he escaped
The governor said Oshiomhole stands suspended and would only be accepted when he shows remorse and apologises to all party members that he had wronged
Obaseki said Oshiomhole would only be accepted back into the party when he is remorseful. Obaseki says Oshiomhole laid traps for him in his administration but failed to get his desire. “Can you imagine a national chairman that is creating problems in his own house? Because of that, we had to suspend him and he remains suspended. We pray that God should have mercy on him because he has done something bad against God and the people of Edo State; he should find his way back into the party and apologize to all of us.
If he comes back remorseful and apologetic, we will consider taking him back.” The rift between Oshiomhole and his successor has continued to deepen.
