Ex-Lawmaker’s Son Emerges Winner Of House of Reps Primary

The son of late Federal Lawmaker representing Garki/Baburi, Muhammed Musa Adamu, has won the the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the bye-election into the vacant seat of Garki/Baburi federal Constituency I Jigawa State following the death of Fagengawo Muhammad in December 2019.

Mr Musa who contested the primary election with three other opponents polled a total votes of 547 to defeat the opponents.

The primary election was held at the Baburi local government Secretariat on Monday, February 17, 2020.

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer who monitored the election said a total vote of 604 were casted out of accredited 605 votes. Total valid votes of 604 and 4 votes were invalid.

The returning officer said Mr Adamu Muhammed polled 547 votes, Aliyu Muhammed Adamu(brother to Musa Muhammed) polled 32 votes, Zangina Muhammed polled 20 votes while Isa Dongo Yaro polled 0 votes.
