The management of Confluence Rice has assured Nigerians of higher quality, more nutritious and excellent taste in the production and consumption of rice in Nigeria as their product hits the market ahead the end of year festivities.
The Managing Director of the rice mill, Mr. Olusegun Olonade, fielding questions on the defining points of Confluence Rice, stated that the processes employed in the growth, cultivation and refining of the final product by the management of the mill are the best standards available anywhere in the world. According to him: ‘’although our paddy rice is locally grown, the finished product is of very high quality and higher nutrition value than even imported rice grains. Consumers of Confluence Ricewill find our product quite enjoyable, smooth and excellent in taste as we hit the market’’.
He observed that the recent ban on importation of rice by the Federal Government had resulted in widespread increase in prices, leaving the masses that represent the highest consumers of the product frustrated and vulnerable.
Commenting on the market experience of Confluence Rice so far, Mr. Olonade recounted the expressed satisfaction at the level of patronage received since the commencement of production. “Presently, there is a high demand from our distributors. As I speak, all the rice currently in production is sold out. The Government Policy has completely put a stop to illegal rice importation and for the first time in the history of Nigeria regarding rice production, we are almost feeding ourselves from complete local production”, he said.
This second largest rice mill in Nigeria, under the auspices of Agri Integrated Services Africa Limited and the Kogi State Government, promises to put rice, which is the staple food in Nigeria on everybody’s table, both high and low at the barest affordable cost.
The management commended the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for taking this great initiative and investing in agriculture, thereby providing jobs and food for the people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large through rice processing and production.
