Ogun First Lady Presents End Of The Year Gifts To Market Women

The Wife of the State Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun in company of the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Funmi Efuwape paid a Yuletide visit to market women in the state, giving them gift items ranging from cash, clothing and bags of rice.
Mrs Abiodun at a meeting with the market women held at Alake’s Palace, Ake, Abeokuta, congratulated the new Iyaloja of Egba Land, Chief Mrs Kemi Oloyede on the occasion of her installation.
She said the meeting with the market women was long overdue but the restrictions in crowded gathering delayed the visit.
The first lady said that the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised that in the coming year, 2021, market women would be supported with loans to boost their businesses, as well as cushion the effects of the economic hardship caused by COVID 19 pandemic.
She thereafter urged the women to comply with the preventive measures given to avoid further spread of the pandemic, emphasising that regular hand wash and constant use of the nose mask should be ensured.
Earlier, in her welcome address, the commissioner for women affairs, appreciated the market women for supporting the present administration, promising them more dividend of democracy.
In her response, the Iyaloja of Egba Land, Chief Mrs Kemi Oloyede appreciated the wife of the governor for her visit and gift items at a time like this, promising that when given loans to boost their businesses, such would be put to judicious use.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Iyaloja of Yewa land, Chief Mrs. Yemisi Abass, and all other Iyaloja within the state metropolises.
